This past matchday in the 2021/2022 Bundesliga season, saw Norwegian Wonderkid Erling Haaland score a brace, putting Dortmund at the top of the standings, however that top spot was quickly reclaimed by reigning champions Bayern Munich after they cruised past Bayern Leverkausen 5-1 thanks to braces by Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry and a single goal by Thomas Muller. Bayern showed to the other Bundesliga teams just what it means to be champions and how much it means to retain the Bundesliga Crown. Speaking on the Bundesliga Connection, DW Sports Correspondent and German football Expert Kres Harrington describes Bayerns’ performance as an offensive avalanche, having scored a handful of goals in a matter of minutes, the champions embarrassed Leverkusen in front of their home fans. Defensively Bayern were strong and new signing Dayot Upamecano showed that he can provide more than just defending as the Frenchman assisted Robert Lewandowski.
