Kaizer Chiefs have had a slow start in the CAF Champions League but still, have a chance to make it out of the group stages if they can put together a string of good results. With two matches against Petro De Luanda on the horizon, coach Gavin Hunt will surely expect six points in the fixtures against their Angolan opponents, who are yet to earn a point in the competition.
In the latest episode of The Carwash with former Bafana Bafana star Teko Modise and former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Sean Roberts, the crew debate Chiefs chances of progressing in the competition. Roberts argues that we have to hold Chiefs to a higher standard, stating “I keep saying this, it’s Kaizer Chiefs. It’s not like we’re talking about a [small team]. This is a team that deserves to be where they are in the Champions League. So they’ve gotta give 100% against Petro De Luanda, it’s Kaizer Chiefs. Do they have the depth? No, we know they don’t, but it’s still no excuse, we expect more, we’ve got to expect more.”
